Basketball players in Surrey have a new event to look forward to this month as Cloverdale Recreation Centre prepares to host its First Annual Basketball Tournament on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The one-day event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Cloverdale Recreation Centre, 6188 176 Street, and is open to adult teams ages 19 and up.
Designed as a fun and welcoming competition for a wide range of players, the tournament will feature co-ed 5-on-5 gameplay, with a minimum of one player of the opposite gender on the court at all times. Teams can register up to 10 players, allowing for substitutes throughout the day as squads battle through pool play followed by playoffs. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishing teams.
The event offers a strong mix of friendly competition and community recreation, making it a great fit for local friend groups, workplace teams, and players looking for an organized day of basketball in Cloverdale. Team jerseys are strongly recommended but not required, helping keep the tournament accessible for casual and competitive players alike.
Registration is $200 per team, and sign-up is completed by the team captain using Course ID 00480861 through Surrey’s recreation system. The tournament is being promoted by the City of Surrey as a recreational event open to all skill levels.
